About me…

Hello!

I’m Katie, creative writer, scribbler and workshop tutor/facilitator

I am a skilled Arts Project Manager with over 18 years experience in managing events, performances and projects across Leicester and Leicestershire. In 2013 I refocused my career to concentrate on my passion for writing and set up Write Mindful.

I deliver writing for well-being workshops as well as community writing projects across the county. I have delivered work across a wide variety of setting including mental health wards, older persons wards and for carers. I am in my third year of delivery of Writing for Wellbeing and Mental Health sessions funded by Time for Change.

In June 2017 I managed the Air Raid Shelter Stories HLF funded project at Granby Primary School. Pupils at the school recorded the memories of former pupils who attended Granby during World War II. You can find out more here.

My WIP is a series of children’s books for 7-12 year olds and I’m currently in the middle of a huge rewrite!  I also scribble short stories & submit to competitions – having had one published locally in Leicester as part of an anthology for KLIC – 10 stories 10 writers. I also write for magazines.

I am a member of Lapidus, an article published on why I write was featured in their Spring Journal 2018.

When i’m not scribbling in my journal or tapping away at my keyboard you can find me reading or procrastinating on facebook or instagram. I’m also a proud mum of one beautiful & bonkers 10 year old girl .
